Your loaf came out beautiful! I love sourdough bread. But my hubby does not, so, I usually just use the discard in my loaves of bread or anything else that I make bread -wise. I do draw the line at cake and cookies 🤣.

Good information. I started my first sourdough starter in May and it took only one week to be active. I made a loaf and it was so amazing! I put in the fridge a few days and did let it set out and fed it before trying my second loaf and it just didn’t rise. 🤔 I ended up making a mock focaccia bread with rosemary and garlic. It tasted like pizza 😅 It was good BUT I can’t get my starter back to smelling sour and ride my bread. So weird. 🤷♀️

As long as it’s not too forceful where it causes lopsided macarons, that should be just fine. Make sure it distributes air evenly over your macarons
can i used malted milk powder instead?
Good question. No, that is not the same. There is no dairy in diastatic malt powder.
Where is the ingredients measurement
Hey Nicole. Enjoyed your video. I have a question: After you piped your macaron and tapped them, you out them right into the oven. I thought you had to leave them out to allow a slight skin to form. It’s this not the case? Is it still okay to let them form a skin? Thanks
Hi! So with my little convection oven I can bake these right away. With my large gas oven I do need to rest until the skin has formed

So she didnt turn off thr oven to dry, she judt strain baked to 275 doot closed
Yes. You can do the oven dry method but they is different

Yes!
How about wrinkly tops?
Wrinkly tops means your batter was unstable. That could be from a few issues- over mixing, oily batter from wrong colorant or spoiled almond flour, too much cocoa powder if doing chocolate macarons, or too low of oven heat or under baking

@@baketoujours I’m actually making up a sampling of a bunch of different flavor macarons right now. I’m giving them to my friend for free. She knows everyone and works at our middle school, and is going to bring them in to share with the adults. Wish me luck 🍀🙏🏻🤞🏼 p.s. I made a point to ask if anyone has allergies to nuts, eggs, or dairy. I hope that’s all that I need right now if I’m not selling them.
@@lisaanderson135 I think that’s a good step! If you were worried, you could print out ingredients or just the allergens in the macarons and put a label on the boxes. Like-includes tree nuts, dairy, soy and blah blah….

My husband teases me for my use of the label maker and printing out labels to place on the edge of containers and shelves for organizing, until he finds what he is looking for 🤣 I wanted to ask you about what storage containers you recommend for your shells for the freezer. I am going to get into making bread regularly and using it for sandwiches instead of storebought! How long does a fresh loaf last?
Depends on how you store it. But wrapped in a tea towel or in aluminum foil can last 5 days.
